The Owl Queen

My lady's castle, reflects in the water below
As she stands on it's bridge, wondering is this friend or foe
She's a wonderful vision of beauty, in it's finest form
The touch of her hand, is so gentle and warm

The people in her land, call her the Owl Queen
For without her feathered companion, she is never seen
A gift of her King, from many years before
Like the Owl, her love for him will forever soar

As the silhouettes in the distance, draw ever so near
The look on the Owl Queen's face, turns to fear
For her dearest true love, she does not see
My God she thinks, where could he be

The Knights finally, reach their castle so grand
Before them, the owl Queen, trembling where she stands
With quivering lips she does ask, where's my loving King
Dead my Queen, but a message from him we do bring

As she opens his letter, The royal tears start to flow
Please my Lord God, please tell me it is not so
But on the blood stained letter, written to my Queen
Were his last words, "I love you" is all that was seen

My Queen still keeps that letter, from many years ago
I remain perched on the royal shoulder,
but her thoughts I no longer know
To this day my queen stands on this bridge,
looking for her true love
Hoping he may be looking on her from above
They say that true love will never die
Well I still see love for her King,
when I look in my Queens eyes
