The Poet's Nest

Hamiltonhouse ~ Buy & Sell

~ Not a writer ~

Darn another mistake thank God for erasers.

I have never been a reader or for that matter a writer.
English was and still is, not my strong point.
So I will apologize up front for any mistakes.

In life I have been good at a lot of things,
english was not one of them.
You can't be good at everything.

I know I am just writing to myself,
but believe it or not it helps.

Being a somewhat shy man,
I don't even believe I'm doing this!

This past relationship is hard to shake.
Being alone is one thing, but not working on top of it,
leaves time for thought.
Not knowing what happened, allows the mind to wonder.
Still trying to figure out,
what happened to my love in life.
Wish I could go back to work,
to take my mind off things.

Being a worker,
I'm not used to having nothing to do.
My wife used to say all you do is work.
I said
" You do what you have to do, to support your family ".

Years ago
I used to have two full time jobs and one part time job,
to fill my day.
After all I needed extra money,
for I had my retirement home to build.

Was to be retirement home,
that is build it,
sell it,
buy something smaller.
That was the plan in the making, for the last 25 years.

Being from a small town,
and being self employed for many years,
everyone knows me and there was always plenty of work.

The only downfall to that is,
you better not be in a hurry when you go to town,
for everyone wants to talk, to see how things are going.

When I finally got custody of my children,
I dropped one job,
to be able to spend time with them.
This was a very good move,
for we enjoyed each others company very much,
and I finally got to watch them grow up.

Then I got married again.
It was down to one job with no regrets.
The one job supported us as a family just fine,
no one did without.

Being hard working and taught not to depend on anyone.
I have always been able to find small jobs to make extra money,
when things got rough.

Cutting fire wood for instance.
A little hard work never hurt anyone.
It sure helped pay family bills when needed.
When you love your family,
you will work hard and do without,
to give to them.
For a man this is the way it should be!
This is what I was taught by my father,
a man very loving and dedicated to family.
I still miss him !

When you truly love someone, you do everything in your power,
to see they get the things in life,
they want and deserve.
