The Poet's Nest

Hamiltonhouse ~ Buy & Sell

Ray Hamilton @ WritersCafe

One of my friends asked me
to write a poem called " Holiday Hell "
Well here it is Kim
{ Fiction }

Holiday Hell

This story I will tell
The story of the holiday from hell
The family gathering is upon us again
They come, for just one day
But here till the new year they will stay

Some I haven't seen since their visit last year
I now remember why and I head for the beer
This soon turns into the holiday from hell
That's why now I'm drinking rum as well

They soon found me hiding outside
My escape from holiday hell didn't work
So pass me the rum I will have it for dessert
They say the lord gave us rum, for what it's worth
To keep the Scottish from inheriting the earth

This great family gathering
Turned into the great holiday from hell
The day after from what I can recall
Was sure not that great as well

Never drink rum and skip your dessert
You may wake up in nothing but a skirt
I awaken knowing something was wrong
The rest I think you can figure out
From the words in the song
